TCS launches three-tier course module for OlChiki, 7000 learners to benefit

Jamshedpur, Sept 25: Having pitched in for the revival of age-old tribal languages, Tata Steels Tribal Cultural Society (TCS) today launched a three-tier course module for OlChiki, in Karindih, Jaherthan.

The move will benefit over 7,000 OlChiki, the Santali script, learners across 150 tribal language centres run by TCS in East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan.

The three-tier course module, launched by Biren Bhuta, Chief, CSR, Tata Steel, has been prepared by a panel of language experts from Pt. Raghunath Murmu Academy, academicians and researchers.

Offering a systematized and step-by-step learning plan, the three-tier course module separately caters to beginner, intermediate and advanced-level learners. For every level, the duration of the course module is six months.

The three-tier module will immensely benefit those interested in pursuing OlChiki at college or university level.
TCS has been running OlChiki language centres since 2011.

In its attempts to spread awareness about tribal scripts among the new generation and to disseminate basic knowledge on the same, TCS operates tribal language learning centres.
