The Howrah-Barbil Jan Shatabdi Express leaving Howrah on Thursday was short terminated at Barajamda while the return train Barbil-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express originated from Barajamda. Therefore, the service of the train in both the directions remained cancelled between Barajamda and Barbil on Thursday.
Apart from this as many as four local passenger trains were short terminated at various stations while a couple of trains ran on a diverted route , because of the traffic-cum- power block.
Passengers faced problems as the cancellation and short termination of trains resulted in mass cancellation of tickets, said railway sources.

The enquiry counters of Tatanagar railway station were flooded with anxious passengers. ” I was not aware of the cancellation of trains. We came to know about it only after reaching the station this morning,” said a passenger.
