Tatanagar station: Second entry gate to get restaurant soon

Jamshedpur, Oct 13: Passenger amenities at Tatanagar and other railway stations of Chakradharpur rail division will be enhanced in the coming days. Plans are afoot to open stalls of several branded companies at the second entry gate of Tatanagar station at Burmamines, sources said.

Sources said the Divisional railway authorities are conducting a survey of stalls at Chakradharpur, Tatanagar, Rourkela and Jharsugora stations in the first stage. In the second stage, the survey would be conducted at Adityapur, Chaibasa and other stations, sources said.

The Divisional rail headquarters has sought the stall survey by October 14.

There are 11 stalls of various brands including Amul and Sudha at Tatanagar station at present. But such facility is not available at the second entry gate at Burmamines as yet. This causes inconvenience to passengers waiting for their trains. Once waiting room, ticket counters and halls are built at the second entry gate, the passengers will no longer have to go to the platform for refreshments.

Railway Commecial and catering department officials conducted a survey of the proposed restaurant on wheel. Tenders may soon be floated for this purpose. Old and abandoned rail coaches would be renovated into a restaurant for railway passengers, sources said.
