Saryu Roy meets Mohan Bhagwat in UP, fuels speculations

Jamshedpur, Oct 13: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat in Mirzapur, Utta Pradesh, on Wednesday. This is the same place where the two had met during Navratra last year. The meeting has once again fuelled speculations about Roy’s future political plans. Roy’s repeated meetings with Bhagwat has also given the state BJP leaders some food for thought.

Roy, who quit the BJP to float his own political outfit, Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha, earlier represented Jamshedpur West constituency twice. After being denied ticket during the last held Assembly elections in Jharkhand, he decided to contest as an independent candidate from the Jamshedpur East seat and defeated the then Chief Minister Raghubar Das to exact his political revenge.

Despite having quit the BJP, Roy continued to show his affiliation for the party ideology and remained in touch with the RSS and its leaders. He also raised various corruption issues against Raghubar Das and sought action against him by the state government. He also participated in the foundation day celebration of RSS and Shastra Puja at Agrico ground. He also recently organized a blood donation camp to pay tribute to Pundit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.
