Jamshedpur: A 14-year-old runaway child was rescued aboard train number 12262 (Howrah–CSMT Duronto Express) on Wednesday. The minor, travelling without a ticket and unaccompanied by a guardian, was identified by TTI Debdeep Basu during a routine check.
Upon discovering the situation, the child was handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Tatanagar Station for further assistance. The RPF coordinated with Childline, an organization dedicated to child welfare, to ensure the minor’s safety.
Childline officials are making arrangements to reunite the child with his parents, reaffirming the collaborative efforts between railway authorities and child welfare organizations in safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
