Tatanagar: Crack on track detected, Howrah-Ahmedabad Express averts mishap

A railway track maintainer discovered a fracture on the railway track at pole number 338/20/22 while conducting a routine inspection. The Ahmedabad-Howrah Express train was approaching on the same track. Quick thinking by the track maintainer, who promptly signaled the train to stop with a red flag, prevented a serious accident.

The Ahmedabad-Howrah Express was temporarily halted at Tuniya Railway Station before being allowed to continue. The crack in the railway track was later repaired. Such incidents are more likely to occur during cold weather when tracks are prone to fractures and cracks. Railway authorities are increasing track patrolling to prevent such accidents.
