Jamshedpur, July 21: The container yard at Tatanagar railway Station will soon be converted into a goods shed to make things easier and safer for businessmen and traders in and around the city. The conversion to goods shed will ensure additional safety of the material stored and safe transit to different destinations. The shed will be made of cement and concrete to ensure that stored goods are not damaged even during adverse climatic conditions.

The Senior Commercial Manager of Chakradharpur Rail Division, Manish Pathak said that the goods shed to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore will be made of cement concrete and will be secured from adverse conditions. The proposed conversion of the container yard to goods shed will be much more spacious with two sets of rail tracks coming into the shed to make loading and unloading operations convenient. There are plans to make a warehouse in the near future. Pathak said the goods shed would be improved from time to time with more facilities.
