Santosh Kumar’s work recognized at national level
Jamshedpur: Civil Defence Inspector Santosh Kumar from Tatanagar Railway has been selected to receive a prestigious silver medal for his outstanding service in the field of Civil Defence. The award, presented by the Director General of Fire Services, Civil Defence, and Home Guard, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, will be conferred at the 62nd Annual Civil Defence Foundation Day celebrations in New Delhi.
Santosh Kumar’s exemplary work in maintaining the efficiency of civil defence volunteers through regular mock drills, public demonstrations, and exercises has earned him the recognition. The Director General of Fire Services praised Kumar for fostering team spirit among the volunteers and consistently striving to maintain the highest standards of efficiency.
“It’s an honour to be selected for this award. I owe this recognition to the dedication and hard work of all the volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain safety and security in our community,” Kumar said. He is the only member from South Eastern Railway to receive this honour at the national level, making his achievement a proud moment for the Chakradharpur Division and all of South Eastern Railway.
The General Manager’s Office in Garden Reach, along with Deputy General Manager Pankaj Kumar Gupta, extended their warm congratulations to Kumar, recognizing his exceptional service. Special awards, including Brown, Silver, and Gold medals, are presented by the Ministry of Home Affairs to deserving employees on the occasion of Civil Defence Foundation Day.
