Tatanagar-Chaibasa, Chakulia trains approved after Jamshedpur MP’s push

Jamshedpur, May 28: After persistent efforts by MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, new train services for Chakulia and Chaibasa have been approved, addressing a long-standing demand. Residents and delegations from both areas had previously urged the MP to enhance rail connectivity. Following his discussions with the South Eastern Railway General Manager, the Railway Board has sanctioned two new train routes.

According to the schedule, a MEMU train will depart Tatanagar at 11 a.m., reach Chakulia by 12:45 p.m. and return at 3 p.m., reaching Tatanagar at 5 p.m. The Chaibasa train will depart Tatanagar at 8:55 p.m. and reach Chaibasa at 11 p.m. It will return the next morning at 3:20 a.m., arriving at Tatanagar by 5:45 a.m., enabling easy access to trains like the Steel Express to Kolkata.

MP Mahato expressed gratitude to the Railway Minister and announced plans to inaugurate the service soon. The new routes are expected to boost connectivity and convenience for commuters in both regions.
