Tata Zoo celebrates Friendship Day

 

Jamshedpur, August 3, 2025: Tata Steel Zoological Park today celebrated International Friendship Day in association with local NGO, Anwesha and Dayanand Public School, Sakchi.

As part of the celebration, Children from +2 Adibasi High School, Bagurda, Patamda  and Dayanand Public School tied friendship bands to trees and animal enclosures, symbolizing their commitment to nurturing relationships with both plants and animals.

Dr. Seema Rani, Education Officer, Tata Steel Zoological Park, kicked off the event by inspiring the children to take an active role in conserving and protecting nature. She highlighted the significance of maintaining a strong bond with the environment, reminding everyone that plants and animals are cherished friends, and that our well-being is deeply interconnected with theirs. This event not only nurtured awareness but also encouraged young minds to take responsibility for the natural world around them. The event also included activities such as a “Touch and learn”, a museum visit, and a talk about butterflies for the children.

Mrs. Alpana Bhattacharya, Secretary of Local NGO ‘Anwesha’, Mrs. Monali Debjani, Teacher, DPS, Sakchi and Zoo staff were also present during the ceremony.
