Tata Main Hospital Observes 15th Indian Organ Donor Day

Jamshedpur, August 3: Tata Main Hospital (TMH) observed the 15th Indian Organ Donor Day today, joining the nationwide initiative to raise awareness about the life-saving impact of organ donation. The occasion aimed to honour the selfless contributions of donors who give others a second chance at life and to encourage ethical, voluntary organ donation.

This year, the day was celebrated with the theme: “Angdaan – Jeevan Sanjeevani” (Organ Donation – A Lifesaving Gift). To mark the occasion, students from the College of Nursing and MTMC at TMH organised a skit and poster competition in the OPD area to raise awareness among patients and visitors. Additionally, the hospital is driving an organ donation pledge campaign to encourage more individuals to register as potential donors.

Tata Main Hospital is a registered renal transplant centre under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It has successfully conducted several renal transplant surgeries, underscoring its commitment to providing advanced and life-saving care.

The hospital is also in the process of expanding its transplant program. It is currently applying for approval to initiate corneal transplant surgeries, thereby strengthening its role as a comprehensive tertiary care institution.
