Tata Workers’ Union, Tata Motors Workers’ Union and OMQ-B Union emerge winners at Inter Union Sports Tournament

Jamshedpur, December 11: The Inter Union Sports Tournament 2025, organised by the Sports Advisory Committee – a joint initiative of Tata Steel and Tata Workers’ Union – concluded at the JRD Tata Sports Complex after three days of energetic and disciplined competition. Launched in 2013, the annual tournament has grown into a prominent platform that promotes health, fitness and camaraderie among union committee members and office bearers from Tata Group units.

This year’s event, held from December 8 to 10, saw an impressive participation of nearly 250 players representing 15 union teams from Jamshedpur, Tata Steel Raw Materials locations and a special invitee team from the Wire Division, Mumbai. Competitions were held in Handball, Volleyball and Badminton. The efforts of three officials and 19 observers were also acknowledged during the closing ceremony.

The valedictory programme was attended by Sandeep Kumar, Vice President, Raw Materials, Tata Steel, as Chief Guest, and Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President, Tata Workers’ Union, as Guest of Honour. They were joined by senior leaders including Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports, Tata Steel; Capt. Manish Sinha, Head Sports (Events & Training Centre); Shailesh Singh, Deputy President, Tata Workers’ Union; B.K. Dinda, President, Tata Kamgar Union; R.K. Singh and Shashi Bhusan from Tata Motors Workers’ Union; and Mohan Mahato, President, West Bokaro Union.

In the results, OMQ-B Union won the Badminton title while TRF Union finished runner-up. Tata Motors Workers’ Union clinched the Volleyball championship with Tata Workers’ Union (TWU) securing second place. In Handball, Tata Workers’ Union emerged champions, followed by West Bokaro Union as runner-up.
