Jamshedpur, May 9: In view of the COVID guidelines a limited number of Tata Workers’ Union (TWU) assembled at the union office to pay homage to its former president, SK Benjamin on his death anniversary. Among those present were deputy president Sailesh Kumar Singh, general secretary Satish Kumar Singh, Jaidev Upadhyay of Michael John Centre and the union’s senior administrative in-charge Dharmbir Singh. While paying tributes to SK Benjamin, TWU deputy president Sailesh Singh said, “SK Benjamin, apart from being the union president, was a mild mannered man but with steely resolve who fought for the right of workers and remains a burning example of fortitude. He served the union dedicatedly for 50 years.”
General secretary Satish Singh described the late president as a man who dedicated his life to the cause of the TWU. He said that even today, the union continues to follow in his footprints. A two minute silence was observed in respect to the memory of SK Benjamin.
