Jamshedpur, May 9: Senior journalist, Vinod Sharan died on Sunday at his Adityapur residence on Sunday, May 9. He was 57 years old and had been ailing over a long period of time. He had kidney problems and was under dialysis. Sharan was attached to Prabhat Khabar and later with New Ispat Mail as a senior journalist. Ill health later prevented him from pursuing his career on a regular basis.
The journalists’ fraternity has expressed their shock and sorrow over Sharan’s demise. In fact, it was through the initiative of JJA that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had given a cheque of Rs 50,000 for his treatment. The journalists mourning the death of Vinod Sharan said that in his death, the entire fraternity felt a deep sense of loss. They expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta, on receiving the news of Vinod Sharan’s death said, “I am saddened by the news. Vinod Sharan was very close to me and I took his advice on political and social matters on several occasions. I pray to God for the peace of his soul and may He give the bereaved family the courage to bear the irreparable loss.”
