Tata Steel workers urge relocation of Kadma Vegetable Market

Jamshedpur, September 4: Residents of Tata Steel Company quarters in Kadma BH Area are facing daily challenges due to a vegetable market set up in the Ganesh Puja Maidan. A delegation of locals submitted a memorandum to the East Singhbhum District Deputy Commissioner and SDO on August 27, requesting action, but no steps have yet been taken.

The vegetable market, established during the Covid-19 period on the district administration’s orders, continues to operate at the Ganesh Puja Maidan. While it generally causes minimal disruption, the situation worsens during festivals like Ganesh Puja and Chhath. The market often shifts in front of quarters on Inner Circle Road, creating noise and congestion that make living conditions difficult.

Residents reported problems such as navigating the area with two-wheelers and challenges during special occasions or emergencies. They have requested the district administration to relocate the market during the festival period to alleviate these problems. The memorandum was signed by residents including Nikhil Kumar, Suraj Mahato, LN Singh, Tulsi Mukhi, Sanjay Kumar Jha, Sunil Kumar Jha, Anil Kumar Singh, Ghanshyam Mishra, and others.
