Jamshedpur, March 24: A golden opportunity awaits eligible transgenders dreaming to work with a global company like Tata Steel. The company has invited applications for the post of trainee engineer. In a circular issued on Thursday, the company said all general candidates including transgenders can apply for the post. Clearly, the company’s gesture is to ensure inclusivity by giving equal opportunity to all persons including transgenders.
As per the notification, the trainee engineers would have a tenure of three years in the field of operations, maintenance and engineering projects. In the first year, the selected candidates would be kept as trainees for the first year. Those successfully completing training would be recruited for a fixed term employment of three years. They will be recruited at IL 6 level and their post would be that of Assistant Manager, said the notification.
The engineers from civil and structural, ceramic, chemical, electrical, electronics, instrumentation, metallurgy, mineral, mining, production engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics, geo-informatics and remote sensing streams can apply for the post. The successful candidates would get a CTC of Rs 6 lakh per annum with a mediclaim of Rs 2.5 lakh. They would be shortlisted first through an online technical test and later through interview and a test which would be held in the third week of April. The candidates have to apply before 10th April.
