BSNL Jamshedpur rolls out 11 PDOs, bags third spot in India

Jamshedpur BA has state’s 41% FTTH, SIM sales rise to 8800 per month

Jamshedpur, March 24: BSNL Jamshedpur BA held a development meeting under the chairmanship of CGM Jharkhand Circle K. K. Singh in Pardih Telephone Exchange on Thursday. On the occasion CGMT Jharkhand Circle awarded leading performers of Jamshedpur BA including officers/officials/TIPs,/Business partners and BSNL Franchisees who have shown exceptional performance in FTTH.

Sanjeev Verma, General  Manager, Telecom Jamshedpur informed that during financial year 2021-22 Jamshedpur BA has given 7265 FTTH connections which is 41% of 17433 connections given by Jharkhand Circle.

He said that Jamshedpur BA is having 10969 FTTH connections and is only the 5th SSA in the Eastern Zone with more than 10,000 connections, the other four are Port Blair, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack and Kolkata.

The two events/scheme are operational in All India Basis  in the field of FTTH are (a) Bharat Fibre Champion League (BFCL) for more expansion of FTTH services across the country and (b) Rolling out of PDO (Public Data Office) to enable Wi-fi Internet access in rural areas at affordable prices. The following TIPs/Business Partner got enrolled in this scheme and got awarded

Verma further said that in the month of January, 2022 Jamshedpur BA stood 2nd in Eastern Zone with exceptional contribution from M/s SBP Enterprises and M/s Vastav Industries.  M/s. SBP Enterprises was also the winner in Jharkhand Circle.  In the month of February, 2022 M/s. C.M Enterprises is winner/topper in Jamshedpur BA.

“In rolling out PDO (Public Data Office) services to enable Wi-fi Internet access in rural areas at affordable price Jamshedpur Business Area (BA) got third position in All India Basis by commissioning 11 PDOs in the rural areas,” GM added.

Sanjeev Verma further informed that in the Consumer Mobility (CM) areas BSNL monthly SIM sale has doubled in All India level from figure of 11.5 lakhs to around 24 lakhs. 

Jharkhand Circle has managed to quadruple its monthly SIM sales from 15000 to around 56000 per month.  Jamshedpur BA has also increased the monthly SIM sales from 3000 to around 8800 per month. 

He stated that in Financial Year 2022-23 the target for Jharkhand Circle has been set at 60,000 FTTH connection out of which around 30,000 connection targets has been given to Jamshedpur BA.

In the prize distribution event at Jamshedpur K.K. Singh, Chief General Manager, Jharkhand Circle Ranchi said that all the awards that Jamshedpur BA has got is dedicated to the energetic, passionate employees of Jamshedpur alongwith strong FTTH partners.  Jamshedpur BA has been the torch bearer of FTTH services in Jharkhand Circle and because of healthy competition among different BA of Jharkhand Circle the circle has became a strong player in Eastern Zone. The momentum needs to be continued, as still we have realised only 20% of the total FTTH potential of Jamshedpur.
