Jamshedpur. November 18: In recognition of its consistent effort towards Value Engineering application in Construction Projects, Engineering & Projects, Tata Steel received three prestigious Value Engineering awards given by Indian Value Engineering Society (INVEST) during 40th International Value Engineering Conference held on November 15 and 16 at Bhubaneshwar.
Engineering & Projects of Tata Steel has won three awards in Technical Category continuously four years in a row.
They include Muthiah Kasi Award for “Value study on optimization of In-bound Logistic of Finished Good (FG) Coil at Exit area in Hot Rolled Pickling & Galvanizing Line (HRPGL) Project”. This award is given for exemplary application of Customer Oriented Function Analysis System Technique (FAST) Diagram and demonstrating how Functions and particularly FAST diagram has helped to solve problems and/or led to creative solutions/innovation. Second award is KSRM Sastry Award for “Value study for “Capex Optimization for Vehicle Under Pass (VUP) of Runway End Safety Area (RESA) at Sonari airport, Jamshedpur”. This award is given for effective utilization of ‘Function and Creativity’ to derive the best possible solutions. Team members included Surya Prakash Prabhaker (Facilitator), Raj Kumar Jha (Team Leader & Author), Subrata Mahata (Member), Debranjan Sar (Member & Co-author), Swaraj Kumar Biswas (Member), Kishore Kumar (Member), Reepak Gupta (Member), Dayanand Pathak (Member), Sanjay Birua (Member), Engineering & Projects.
Third award is Mohta Award for “Value Optimization of Overland Conveying System (OLCS) at Noamundi Iron Ore Mines”. The award is given to the best VE Case Study in India demonstrating systematic application Value Engineering Six Phase JOB PLAN completed in previous Financial Year.
