Aero modeling show dazzles kids on JRD’s 113th birth anniversary
Jamshedpur, July 29: Tata Steel as well as the people of the city paid rich tributes to Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhai Tata on the occasion of his 113th birth anniversary on Saturday. A number of events were held at different locations to celebrate the day.
As a mark of tribute, a short film on JRD Tata’s life and his passion for flying, showcasing the philosophy of the pioneering industrialist, was screened at Sonari Airport by Tata Steel’s Aviation department. The special programme also included an Aero-modeling show and static display of aircraft. The chief guest on the occasion, Jolly Bhaskaran, paid homage to the legend.
Various aircrafts and helicopters were exhibited during the event. A large number of students visited the airport with their parents. Children were curious to get a glimpse of the cockpit and various other parts of aircrafts. Many aeroplanes controlled by remote control were also included in the exhibition. Drones were however the chief attraction of the event. Children witnessed drones flying before their eyes. They were enlightened about drones and their various uses.
Every year, a large number of people from different parts of the city visit the airport to witness the spectacular show organized by Tata Steel.
A young girl visiting the show said she wanted to become a pilot. She said she wanted to follow in the footsteps of the country’s first pilot JRD Tata.
