Jharkhand taking steps to emerge as an IT hub: Rajbala

Ranchi, July 29: Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma today said that the state was taking steps to emerge as an IT hub in the country the process for which would commence from September when nine IT companies were setting their businesses here. These companies would be providing employment to 5000 people directly while several thousands would be indirectly benefitted by them, Verma said after inspecting the newly build building of the cooperative department at Namkum where these 9 companies would be provided space to run their business.

Verma said these companies would be making an investment of Rs1000 crore in the state and with their functioning more development would take place in the areas of IT and agriculture. Verma said this would also be a major step to link the various schemes of the state government with IT. She said a better environment for industrial investment has developed in the state and even the industrialists have lauded the industrial policy of the state.

The CS said the state was also performing better in the area of ease of doing business index and after the momentum Jharkhand summit process has commenced to realize the various projects on the ground. She directed IT department officials to makes sure that these new IT companies be provided space in the new building of the cooperative department and said that a meeting should be held with the companies and discussion should be held for the facilities needed.

Verma said the road linking to the new building should be better prepared and the football ground should also be developed. The new building of the cooperative department has been built over an area of 1.65 acre and has five stories consisting of 26rooms along with a conference hall at every floor.

Among those present on the occasion also included Secretary Mines and Industries Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Secretary IT Satyendra Singh, Secretary Agriculture and Cooperative Pooja Singhal and Director Land Reforms K Srinivasan.
