Tata Steel Jamshedpur organises river cleaning and plantation drive to mark Earth Day

Jamshedpur, April 22: Tata Steel today celebrated Earth Day, reiterating its commitment towards sustainability and enabling a greener future.

Chanakya Choudhary, Vice President Corporate Services Tata Steel took part in a plantation drive at Sidhgora area of Jamshedpur besides taking part in a “Forest Trail” from Marine Drive side.

During the week, several activities were taken up to mark the occasion. This includes a river cleaning drive at Domuhani and Gandhi Ghat on April 18 by the volunteers. Besides, students from various city schools including Chinmaya, JH Tarapore were also engaged in the Earth Day observance activities. To make aware the importance of the Day amongst the masses, Flash Mobs on Earth Day theme were also organised at Sakchi and Bistupur.

Tata Steel also ran an engagement campaign on Earth Day asking individual employees to share their contributions in the form of plantation photographs/home garden photographs showing how they are investing their time and effort for preserving the planet. Quiz, photo-contest etc were also organised.
