Jamshedpur, April 19: A group of Tata Steel employee wards staged a demonstration before Tata Workers Union office in Bistupur on Tuesday to demand re-examination for the recruitment of trainees.
The demonstrators alleged that the written exam organized by the company for the recruitment of trainees on 6th March last was ridden with corruption and hence it should be revoked. They said a fresh examination should be organized to give a fair chance to all deserving candidates who could not make it last time.
Earlier, the agitating employee wards had submitted memorandum to Tata Workers Union leaders, Tata Steel management and Deputy Labour Commissioner of Jamshedpur to demand re-examination. They also handed over a memorandum to the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav in this regard.
The agitators alleged that the written exam held on 6th March was not held in a fair way. They said the question paper was leaked during exam despite a ban on taking mobile phone to the examination hall. Eight examinees resorting to unfair means were also caught during the exam, they said.
The agitators claimed that majority of successful candidates were related to Tata Workers Union committee members. This cannot be just a coincidence, they said.
