Jamshedpur, May 28: Ahead of World Environment Day, Tata Steel organized a series of awareness programmes at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on May 26 to promote environmental responsibility and climate action under the global theme “#NowForClimate.”
The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from school students, who showcased creativity and concern for environmental protection through different competitions and activities.

One of the major attractions was “Eco Art Splash,” a live painting competition held for students from Classes 4 to 12. Around 400 students participated in the event and presented colourful artworks focusing on nature conservation, biodiversity, and the growing threat of climate change. The competition encouraged children to express their thoughts on protecting the environment through art.

Another event, “Eco-Elegance,” a fancy dress competition for students from Classes 1 to 3, also drew enthusiastic participation. Young children dressed as trees, animals, environmental warriors, and other nature-inspired characters to spread messages about saving the planet and reducing pollution.

The programmes were organized in collaboration with the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board. Officials from the pollution control board appreciated Tata Steel’s efforts to create environmental awareness among children at the grassroots level. Anil Saxena, Junior Environmental Engineer of JSPCB, praised the students for their creativity and enthusiasm.
Tata Steel will continue its World Environment Day celebrations with tree plantation drives, technical sessions on sustainability, and activities for children under “Masti ki Pathshala.”
