Jamshedpur: NCC annual camp begins with focus on unity and discipline

549 cadets join 10-day training at NIT Adityapur

Jamshedpur, June 26: The 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp-13 of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) began at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Adityapur, under the aegis of the 37 Jharkhand Battalion NCC, Jamshedpur, which functions under the Ranchi Group Headquarters. The residential camp, which started on June 25, will continue until July 4.

Camp Commandant and Commanding Officer Colonel Vinay Ahuja inaugurated the camp and encouraged cadets to uphold the NCC motto of “Unity and Discipline.” He urged them to develop a spirit of patriotism, discipline, leadership, and dedication to the nation while gaining a better understanding of military life.

Deputy Camp Commandant Colonel Prem Chand Jha said that 549 NCC cadets, including boys and girls from 33 schools, colleges, and educational institutions across the region, are participating in the camp. He added that experienced Army officers, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), and caretakers from various institutions are supervising the training.

During the 10-day camp, cadets will receive intensive training in drill, firing, weapon handling, map reading, and other military skills. They will also participate in obstacle training, leadership development sessions, and activities aimed at strengthening discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence.

The camp will also include social service programmes and activities promoting national integration and community awareness. A dedicated Army team, including Third Officer Kundan Kumar Chandra, is ensuring the smooth conduct of the training programme.
