Jamshedpur, March 28: The All India Inter-Steel Plant Athletics Championship concluded on March 27, 2023 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President Raw Materials, Tata Steel graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
Tata Steel emerged as overall champion in All India India-Steel Plant Athletics Championship with 29 points while Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Vishakhapatnam were declared the runner-up scoring 12 points.
Three-day athletics sporting event saw participation from more than 90 athletics from steel plants across India. The meet hosted games in seven categories namely 100-metres, 400-metres, 800-meters, 2-km walk, long jump, triple jump and relay race (4×100-meters).
On the final day 3 sporting events were organised namely, Triple Jump, 100 Metre race and 4×100 metre relay race. While the R Harish emerged as winner in the long jump category, Shital Tudu bagged the 100 metre race. Tata Steel emerged as winner in the 4×100 metre relay race.
Present on the occasion were, Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports Excellence Centres, TFA and Sports, Hemant Gupta, Head Sports, Tata Steel, Anand Louis Menezes, Sr. Coach Athletics, TFA and Sports and other officials from Sports Department.
