Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited plans new investments in Jamshedpur, MD holds meeting with Union representatives

Jamshedpur, May 24: Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited (TSDPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, is set to embark on new investments in its Jamshedpur and Sanand plants in Gujarat. The expansion of both these facilities was discussed during a significant meeting between TSDPL Managing Director (MD) Sandeep Kumar and union representatives.

The meeting, held on Thursday at the conference room of the Bara Plant of TSDPL, focused primarily on the company’s vision until 2030 and strategies to realize this vision. MD Sandeep Kumar provided detailed insights into the company’s roadmap, emphasizing plans for the expansion of operations in Jamshedpur and Sanand.

Discussions also encompassed aspects related to profitability, productivity, and, significantly, safety measures. Union members highlighted concerns regarding pending matters, including grades and the commencement of the CR plant project. In response, MD Sandeep Kumar assured proactive measures on all fronts.

The meeting saw the participation of key personnel, including Jamshedpur General Manager Ashwini Kumar, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Karan Lakhani, HR Head Anand Vivek, newly appointed HR Chief Sanjay Majumdar, and union representatives led by President Rakeshwar Pandey. Vice President Sachchidanand, SB Rana, Deputy President Sanjeev Singh, Assistant Secretary Anish Jha, Treasurer Ramesh Chaudhary, advisors Rakesh and Ranjan Mishra, as well as committee members Tridev Singh, Manoj Singh, and Pramod Upadhyay, were also present.
