Jamshedpur printing press owner alleges Rs 1-Crore theft from Bistupur shop

Jamshedpur, June 9: A printing press owner has lodged a complaint with Bistupur police, accusing his landlady and her son of breaking open his shop and removing printing machines, raw materials and other assets worth nearly Rs 1 crore.
According to the complaint, the proprietor of Samrat Enterprises has been operating a printing press from the basement of Samriddhi Enclave in the Construction Area, Road No. 3, Bistupur, since 2019.
The 533-square-foot premises was rented at a monthly rent of Rs 25,000 from Chandravati Sharma and her son, Sonal Sharma.
The complainant stated that on June 4, a resident of the building informed him over the phone that the shop had been emptied and painting work was underway inside.
On reaching the premises, he allegedly found that his lock had been replaced with another one.
Local residents reportedly told him that all the equipment and materials had been removed from the shop.
He has alleged that Chandravati Sharma and Sonal Sharma broke open the lock and removed assets valued at around Rs 1 crore.
The missing items reportedly include four advanced Xerox machines, paper and sticker cutting machines, inverters and batteries, CCTV cameras, iron racks, a vacuum cleaner, printing materials, computers, furniture and split air-conditioners.
Seeking recovery of the equipment and legal action against the accused, the complainant has urged the police to conduct a fair investigation. Police have initiated a probe into the matter.
