Tata Steel Adventure Foundation wins 39 medals at East Zone Sport Climbing Championship

Jamshedpur, Oct 18: Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) has once again demonstrated its prowess in the field of sports by winning an impressive 39 out of 47 medals at the 25th East Zone Sport Climbing Championship held from October 13 to 16 at the Sport Climbing Walls of the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling.

A contingent of 88 climbers, along with coaches, a physiotherapist, and manager from TSAF participated in the competition representing Jharkhand. The TSAF team’s remarkable performance is a testament to their dedication and hard work, which has been supported by Tata Steel Foundation and JCAPCPL.

The TSAF team’s medal winners will now participate in the National Sport Climbing Championship 2023. TSAF’s commitment to grooming young talent was evident as 15 out of the 39 medals were secured by children from Masti Ki Pathshala. The TSAF’s robust grassroots system was reflected in the result as they won all 18 medals in the Sub Jr category.

The event witnessed a diverse and competitive atmosphere with participants from Jharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. TSAF continues to inspire and create future sport climbing champions who will make a mark on both national and international platforms.
