As a part of the 183rd Founder’s Day celebration, Tata Steel UISL (formerly JUSCO) has come up with a new look Kadma-Sonari Link Road that will provide  full doses of health and fitness. The widened Kadma-Sonari Link Road has seen remarkable changes that include joggers’ park and cycling tracks, vehicle lane and open green gym for fitness enthusiasts.

N Chandrasekaran, Chairman Tata Sons inaugurated Fitness Avenue along Kadma-Sonari Link Road, a perfect gift for the Jamshedpur residents.

Fitness Avenue has Open Gym facility with 20 equipment, App based cycle stand, public amenities etc.

Mural art forms, paintings depicting flowers and birds are on display on walls at one side of the KS Link road while on the other side, big stones have been fixed with painted cartoon characters.

A cycle track has been laid while a pathway in the middle of the road will provide convenience to morning and evening walkers.

Night view of the road has adorned a stunning look with painted streetlight poles adding to the scenario of a dream world. The two kilometer long Link Road has been widened from 3.5 m to 5.5 m. Cycle track of 950 meters has been laid parallel to this road with width of 1.8 meters. Keeping in mind the senior citizens, a soft walker track has also been laid.

According to UISL, two parking spaces have been built for both two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles. The long pending demand of walkers to have a public toilet facility by the side of the Kadma-Sonari Link Road has been provided. High quality street lights on both sides of the road will provide convenience to walkers even during the night.

A beautiful park has also been developed by Tata Steel UISL at Link Road. Flowers and leaves are adding to its beauty while the statue of a thinking woman is the centre of attraction for morning and evening walkers.

“It’s really good open space in the area and doesn’t seem to get too crowded. It is a nice place to go for a run or a walk. I’m super impressed with the new added facilities. Open gym and cycling track will attract more fitness enthusiasts. Walking in this open space is such a pleasure while the outdoor seating provides a very relaxing ambiance,” says Suresh Agarwal, a resident of Contractors Area and a daily walker.
