Jubilee Park dazzles in celestial splendour
Jamshedpur, March 2: The 186th birth anniversary of Tata group founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata started with inauguration of illumination of Jubilee Park on Sunday, March 2.

On the eve of Founder’s Day, the illumination was inaugurated by Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran in the presence of TV Narendran, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Steel and senior officials of the company.

He along with other dignitaries also paid homage to the Founder.
Speaking briefly, Chandrasekaran refrained from making any formal comments but expressed his joy, stating, “I am happy to be here.” His presence and participation highlighted Tata Group’s continued commitment to the city and its legacy.

Jubilee Park was transformed into a paradise of lights, colors, and festivities. The grand illumination marked a momentous occasion for the city, resonating with the spirit of celebration.

The spectacle unfolded as part of the city’s tribute to its founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, with the park radiantly adorned in vibrant hues.

Residents and visitors alike were treated to a visual extravaganza as the Jubilee Park sparkled with dazzling lights and artistic displays.

Illumination inside the Jubilee Park includes tree wrapped with LED lights, coloured decorative lights on plants and shrubs and decorative shapes on Street light poles.

This year’s theme of Founder’s Day is ‘Leadership in Market, Technology and Cost’.

Chanakya Choudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, Rituraj Sinha, MD, Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited were also present.

The lightings will remain in place from March 3-5 inside Jubilee Park. Spectators can enjoy the illuminated scenery from 5 pm to 10 pm.

Additionally, from 10 pm to 11 pm, the captivating lighting can be experienced through vehicles, providing a unique viewing opportunity for visitors. Laser Show will be operational from March 3-5 at Jubilee Park.

Postal Park
Chairman Tata Sons to pay homage to the Founder at Bistupur Postal Park on March 3. Pageantry parade by the social organisations which has been a regular affair during Founder’s Day has been discontinued this year, informed Chanakya Chaudhary.

Over 40 landmark locations across the city, including roundabouts, heritage buildings, and parks, have been illuminated. Some of the prominent roundabouts that are beautifully decorated include: Lady Gandhi Roundabout (Dorabji Park), CH Area Roundabout, Centre Point Roundabout, Beldih Church Roundabout, Adityapur Kharkai Bridge Roundabout, PN Bose Roundabout near MD TSL Roundabout, Kadma Rankini Mandir Roundabout, Sakchi Roundabout, Regal Roundabout, Ganesh Puja Maidan Roundabout.

Similarly, several heritage buildings have been lit up, adding to the grandeur of the occasion. Some of these include: Tata Workers Union (TWU) Office, Clock Tower (Golmuri Golf Course), Jusco Shramik Union (JSU) Office, Tata Nagar Railway Station, Centre For Excellence (CFE) Front Façade, Parsi Temple, Chummery Guest House.

Additionally, five major parks—Jubilee Park, Dorabji Tata Park, Postal Park, Birsa Munda Park, and Centenary Park (Tinplate)—have been decorated with dazzling lights.

Founder’s Day Schedule and Traffic Arrangements
To facilitate smooth movement and enhance public experience, the following pedestrian and vehicular movement rules will be in place:
- Pedestrian Entry into Jubilee Park: March 3 to March 5 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM via:
- Sakchi Gate
- Centre for Excellence (CFE) Gate
- Nicco Park Gate
- Vehicular Movement for Illumination Viewing: Allowed from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM on a specific route:
Entry (CFE Gate) → Smriti Udyan Area → Sakchi Gate → Parsee Gate → Statue Area → Exit (CFE Gate). - Complete Closure of Vehicular and Pedestrian Entry: After 11:00 PM on March 5.
- Spectacular Laser Show at Jubilee ParkAdding to the excitement, a Laser Show will be held at Jubilee Park from March 3 to March 5, promising an enthralling visual experience for visitors.

Security arrangements strengthened for public safety
RK Singh informed that a security helpdesk has been set up with ambulances stationed at the Statue Area and Lake Turn for medical assistance. Watchtowers and help desks are placed at key locations, with public address systems for lost and found coordination. Around 200 police officials and 150 security volunteers will manage pedestrian movement, supported by CCTV surveillance and metal detectors.

The Founder`s Day celebrations at Jamshedpur Works will also be live streamed for employees.
