Jamshedpur, Oct 31: Train journey between Tatanagar and Patna may soon become more convenient for passengers as Railway department is all set to convert the current rail coaches into Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches which are designed for higher speed and equipped with better safety features, sources said.
Sources said the present Indian Coach Factory (ICF) coaches of the Tata-Dhanbad Swarnarekha Express would be converted into LHB coach. Similar conversion will take place in Dhanbad-Patna-Dhanbad Damodar Express. The Railway has decided to link both trains. Several bogies of Swarnarekha Express would be linked to Damodar Express on reaching Dhanbad from Tata and would be sent to Patna. Similarly, the coaches of Damodar Express would be sent to Tata on reaching Dhanbad under the name of Swarnarekha Express, sources said.
Sources said Swarnarekha Express will run with 22 coaches with eight sleeper bogies, six third AC, two second AC and three general coaches.
