Jamshedpur, Oct 31: In a significant judgment, the Jamshedpur civil court on Friday acquitted Tata Motors Limited’s temporary employee Ganesh Behera of all charges in a theft case filed against him in 2022.
The case, registered as GR No. 1206/2022, was lodged by Amitesh Pandey, DGM (HR) of Tata Motors, alleging that Behera had stolen silver coins and other items worth Rs 24.50 lakh. He was charged under Sections 406, 408, 411, and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
After a prolonged trial and detailed arguments, Judicial Magistrate First Class Adnan Aqib acquitted Behera, observing that the prosecution failed to substantiate the allegations and that the evidence presented did not support the charges.
The defence team, comprising advocates Sanjay Prasad, Rahul Goswami, Shweta Singh, Pooja Guha, Priyanka Jha, and Nishant Jain, argued that the accusations were baseless and not supported by factual proof.
Following the verdict, Ganesh Behera expressed relief and gratitude, stating, “This is not just a legal victory, but the restoration of my dignity. Truth always triumphs. The judgment reaffirms that justice prevails for those who stand firm with honesty and patience.”
The court’s decision has brought major relief to Behera, ending a three-year-long legal battle and clearing his name from what was deemed a false and fabricated case.
