Jamshedpur : Tata Motors Hospital has added another feather in its cap in the field of orthopaedic surgery. The hospital is being seen as a specialised centre for joint replacement surgery and is gradually moving towards The hospital received a higher rating compared to others in the eastern region. Dr Manish Kumar Varshney has conducted three such operations in a day.
The surgeon said they are focussing on upgrading facilities at the operation theatre and skill enhancement to attend to more patients. Cases of hip and knee replacement surgeries from patients living in Ranchi, Bokaro, Chakradharpur and Ghatshila are coming here. Patients with knee complications need not move to hospitals outside the city for surgery.

Knee replacement surgery is required when the surface of the bone completely gets eroded because of prolonged wear and tear. The most important fact, hospital authorities said, is that patients can move their knee joints more than 90 per cent after the surgery.
