Tata Motors Hospital Jamshedpur adds laser technology to eye surgery

Jamshedpur, April 20: Tata Motors Hospital in Jamshedpur has introduced laser facility in the department of Eye.

The facility was inaugurated by Ravindra Kulkarni, Head- Jamshedpur plant, Tata Motors in the presence of Dr Sanjay Kumar, Head- Medical Services and senior doctors from the hospital and other Senior Executives from the Plant and RK Singh, General Secretary and Gurmeet Singh Totey, President, Tata Motors Workers Union.

Dr Rajan Verma, HOD- Eye, shared the salient features of the newly installed facility. Yag Laser and Optical Biometer will be a major leap in the treatment of Glaucoma, Cataract and number of other eye ailments.

More than half a century old Tata Motors Hospital, Jamshedpur has come up a long way – the past few months have seen the hospital moving to the next level of excellence with a number of newer developments and upgradation of existing services.

To start with, the hospital got the prestigious NABH Accreditation early this year.

The NABH – National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Healthcare providers, a body that has developed a process driven approach in all aspects of hospital activities – not only clinical but also in governance aspects, the hospital was assessed on more than 100 parameters and was found to excel with distinction as certified by the Quality Council Of India.

The NABH certificate was handed over by Vishal Badshah, Vice President, Tata Motors Ltd., in presence of Ravindra Kulkarni, Plant Head, Jamshedpur Works, Tata Motors to Dr Sanjay Kumar, Head – Tata Motors Hospital.

He complimented the Doctors and Nursing Sisters for the quality work in the hospital.

Another feather in the cap has been the introduction of Cashless Health Insurance facility for all the medically insured patients.

Health Insurance is critical to secure oneself financially against any medical emergency. According to Dr Sanjay Kumar, the treatment cost for medically insured patients will become more streamlined and accessible with a cashless facility, thus making the hospital more patient / customer friendly.

In addition, the hospital has full fledged Neuro Surgery treatment, various facilities of the hospital recently modified – OPD waiting area, air conditioning of general ward, enhancing the ICU and Dialysis Beds, introduction of various new pathological tests etc
