Jamshedpur, April 20 : JUSCO School, Kadma celebrated Earth Day to make the students aware about the importance of Mother Earth, on April 20.
The theme was ‘Invest in Your Planet -Soil Sustenance’. The celebration started with the Cycle Rally by the students of Std X and XII to spread the message of keeping the Earth green and clean.
They visited KPS Kadma, Baldwin and DBMS Kadma High School, and presented saplings to the Principals. The students took a pledge to save the Earth.
Earlier, the programme started with short cultural programme.
The students sang a song and performed dance on the essence and significance of Mother Earth.
A video on keeping the Earth green and clean was also presented. Jhumjhumi Nandi, Principal, JUSCO School, Kadma inaugurated the Soil Sensor machine on the occasion.
The celebration ended with the enriching session on recycling of waste by Madhulika Singh, Co-Founder of KORU Foundation. She was accompanied by Deepak Soni, Project Coordinator of KORU.
Principal Jhumjhumi Nandi motivated the students to take small steps everyday to make Earth a clean and green place for every living being.
The Eco Club of the school gave their best in making the programme a huge success . The Vice Principal Anindita Roy, Sr School Coordinator Qamar Ali, Jr School Coordinator Seema Tiwary were also present.
