Jamshedpur: Tata Motors plant head AB Lal said that Tata Motors was committed to making best quality vehicles. He said the company was on the path of World Class Quality (WCQ).
“In the journey, the company has achieved WCQ Level II. By March, we have set the target of achieving WCQ Level III,” he said while addressing the gathering on the occasion of the 68th Republic Day celebrations at Sumant Moolgaonkar Stadium, Telco.
He was speaking after hoisting the National Flag as the chief guest of the Republic Day function.
Lal further said that the Indian Army was also the valued customer of Tata Motors. A big order from the Indian Army has to be completed in time. Another repeat order has been placed by the Army, he said, adding that only Euro 4 engines will be manufactured from 1st April onwards.
Lal said that the expectations of customers were changing constantly in the world economy under the economic reforms and open market. He said the competition had become tougher today.
“In the changing times, Tata Motors is facing the challenge of manufacturing low emission vehicles having high quality and utilizing higher technology,” said the plant head.
After flag hoisting, students from different schools participated in parade. Innovating floats were also taken out. A colourful programme based on Make In India and Swachh Bharat were also organized on the occasion.
Among others present during the function included Sumant Kumar Sinha, Deepak Kumar, Pramod Kumar, Rajeev Srivastava and Vishal Badshah.
