Jamshedpur: Arvind Kumar Tiwari, Headmaster of Upgraded Middle School, Tangrain in Potka block, East Singhbhum, has been awarded a certificate for successfully completing a six-month fellowship in Social and Emotional Learning at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai.
The fellowship, conducted under the Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL) and Umang initiative, focused on building emotionally intelligent classrooms by promoting empathy, sensitivity, and holistic student development.
Speaking at the ceremony held at Armaity Desai Hall, TISS Mumbai, Tiwari said the fellowship represented a commitment to nurturing students beyond academics and fostering emotional well-being in classrooms. He emphasized that teachers played a key role not only in teaching subjects but also in shaping students’ personalities.
He expressed gratitude to TISS, his school community, colleagues, and supporters, stating that he would apply the learning in his school and community to build a more supportive and emotionally secure learning environment. The achievement has been recognized as a matter of pride for Potka block and East Singhbhum district.
