Applications Open Until March 25
Jamshedpur: Tata Cummins Private Limited has officially invited applications for its Paid Summer Internship Program 2026. The program is open to the wards of employees and candidates recommended through referrals.
According to the circular signed by HR Head Deepesh Chaulia, the initiative aims to provide young students with hands-on industrial experience and professional development. However, new eligibility criteria have sparked a significant controversy among the workforce and union factions.
Internship Details & Eligibility
The company has set specific academic standards for applicants. This year, the program focuses strictly on technical and management streams:
| Course | Eligibility | Duration |
| BE / B.Tech | 7th Semester (3rd Year) students with 60%+ marks & no backlogs. | 2 to 6 Months (June–Dec) |
| MBA | 1st Year students (for 3rd Sem internship) with 60%+ marks. | 2 Months (April–June) |
How to Apply: Candidates can apply via the official Google Form link or by scanning the QR code provided by the company. Selection will be based on company merit standards, and successful candidates will receive a stipend.
The Controversy: General Graduates Sidelined
The 2026 circular has triggered an uproar within the plant. Historically, the internship program was inclusive of students pursuing general degrees like BA, B.Com, and B.Sc. By limiting the 2026 intake to only BE, B.Tech, and MBA students, hundreds of employees’ children pursuing non-technical degrees have been disqualified.
With limited seats available, management has advised eligible technical students to apply as soon as possible on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
