Jamshedpur, July 9: Passengers travelling on the 18183/18184 Tatanagar–Buxar–Tatanagar Express are set to benefit from an additional sleeper coach following the efforts of Arun Kumar Joshi, a Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) member of South Eastern Railway.
The South Eastern Railway has approved a revision in the train’s composition by replacing one unreserved (general) coach with an additional sleeper coach, providing greater comfort to long-distance passengers.
The decision comes in response to a proposal submitted by Joshi to the General Manager of South Eastern Railway on March 23, 2026, seeking an increase in the number of sleeper coaches on the train to meet rising passenger demand.
Under the revised coach composition, the change will take effect for trains departing from Tatanagar on July 17 and from Buxar on July 18.
Welcoming the decision, Joshi said the additional sleeper coach would provide significant relief to passengers travelling long distances. He added that he would continue pursuing the introduction of more sleeper coaches as well as AC 3-tier Economy coaches on the train in line with passenger requirements.
