Ramgarh by-poll: Hemant campaigns for Cong candidate
Ranchi, February 19: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren addressing an election rally at Ramgarh which will have by-polls on February 27, exuded confidence of ruling alliance supported Congress candidate winning the election.
Addressing the meeting at Gola, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the opposition has been preparing for the Ramgarh assembly by-election for the last six months and is distributing money by going to many villages.
Hemant said that former MLA Mamta Devi was conspired during the erstwhile BJP government and sent to jail and exhorted people to give justice to her small child who was born few months before her going to jail.
“We have all the by-elections so far under our government and we will win this one too. The opposition (BJP-Ajsu) people are distributing cash and I would say that people should take the cash but press button in hand symbol for Congress candidate,” said Soren.
Incidentally, Congress Bajrang Mahato, husband of former MLA Mamata Devi is in a straight contest with Ajsu candidate supported by BJP Sunita Choudhary, wife of Giridih MP and former Ramgarh MLA Chandra Prakash Choudhary.
Hemant said that a conspiracy is being done to defame our government.
“We are seeking our dues from the Central government but it is being ignored by the Centre. Despite this our government started a pension scheme for all elderly, disabled and widowed women in the state. However, opposition is hatching a conspiracy to topple this government since the formation of the government by defaming us,’ alleged Soren.
“When we make a recruitment policy for Jharkhandis in Jharkhand, then the people of UP/Bihar get stomach ache and challenge in the court. But now the circumstances have changed. Now the one who talks about domicile based on 1932 khatian (land survey) in Jharkhand will rule the state,’ said Soren.
The Chief Minister said that the opposition is fooling people by making them chulha pramukh (chiefs) in the assembly constituency.
“In UPA government in 2014 gas cylinder was available for Rs.400 but in BJP government it is available for Rs1200. However, opposition is making chulka pramukh to ensure victory of their candidate,”said Soren.
At the same time, now Jharkhand Congress in-charge Avinash Pandey is arriving on Monday on a two-day tour. They will reach Ranchi at 12 noon on Monday and campaign and plan strategy for party’s candidate.
