Jamshedpur: A closed shop near Triveni Chowk in Parsudih witnessed a sudden and intense fire late on Saturday night, reducing the establishment to ashes. The timely intervention of the Jharkhand Fire Department, however, averted potentially catastrophic consequences.
Upon noticing sparks emanating from the closed shop, alert individuals promptly alerted the fire department. Subsequently, a vehicle from the Jharkhand Fire Department rushed to the scene, and after an arduous one-and-a-half-hour effort, the fire was successfully brought under control.
Local residents had initially attempted to extinguish the flames by breaking shutters and using water, but their efforts proved insufficient. Manik Mallik, a local social worker and JMM leader, arrived at the scene to express regret over the incident. He emphasized the need for a dedicated fire brigade in the Parsudih area to enhance emergency response capabilities.
Eyewitnesses recounted the potential severity of the situation, highlighting that if the fire had not been contained in time, it could have easily spread to nearby shops, resulting in substantial losses.
