Jamshedpur, Feb 5: Thursday, February 5, became a landmark day in the history of Adityapur Railway Station under the Chakradharpur Division of South Eastern Railway, as the Swarnarekha Express (Adityapur–Dhanbad) was officially flagged off from Adityapur for the first time.
The train departed for Dhanbad at 3:37 PM amid the presence of senior railway officials and local leaders, symbolizing a significant operational shift.
The inaugural ceremony was led by Tatanagar ARM (Area Railway Manager) Sameer Gaurav, who was present as the chief railway representative.

The occasion also witnessed the participation of several local leaders and social activists who gathered to welcome the new beginning and to encourage women railway personnel.
Prominent among them were Congress leader Suresh Dhari, Srinivas Yadav, S.N. Yadav, Rahul Yadav, Sunil Karwa, Aman Yadav, and Amit Prakash.
The dignitaries congratulated the women loco pilots and women railway staff, appreciating their role in this historic commencement.
Providing details of the new operational arrangements, ARM Sameer Gaurav informed that Adityapur station will now serve as the originating point for four important trains.
The Adityapur–Hatia train departed early Thursday morning at 4.35 AM.
The Swarnarekha Express to Dhanbad has now begun regular operations from Thursday afternoon. Additionally, the Adityapur–Asansol train is scheduled to commence services from Friday, February 6, while a proposal for a Tata–Visakhapatnam train is currently under process.
Responding to public demands regarding the operation and stoppage of trains to Bihar, ARM Gaurav stated that proposals related to Bihar-bound trains are presently pending at the railway headquarters level.
He assured that once approval is received, the services will be implemented without delay.
The initiation of multiple train services from Adityapur is expected to significantly reduce passenger load at Tatanagar station, offering greater convenience to commuters and strengthening rail connectivity in the region.
