Jamshedpur: In a vibrant display of unity and brotherhood, a cross-community Iftar gathering in Sonari recently brought together residents from various backgrounds to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan.
For the last three years, D. Bose, a member of the Sonari Police Station Peace Committee, has personally organized Iftar for worshippers at the Kumhar Pada and Khutadi mosques. Operating under the guidance of Sudhir Kumar Pappu—the Peace Committee Secretary and a senior advocate at the Jamshedpur Civil Court—Bose visits both mosques during the holy month to distribute Iftar meals directly to fasting devotees.
A Symbol of Mutual Trust
This annual tradition transcends a simple social gathering; it serves as a powerful symbol of mutual love, trust, and communal harmony. The initiative highlights the unique culture of Sonari, where residents celebrate festivals of all religions together in a peaceful, inclusive environment.
Community Leaders Join the Celebration
Senior advocate and Peace Committee Secretary Sudhir Kumar Pappu attended the program to show his support. Joining him were committee members Bhai Haridas and Ajay, along with several respected elders and members from the two local mosques. Together, they reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the social fabric of the neighborhood through shared traditions.
