Subhrajit Basu takes charge as President of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East

Jamshedpur, July 11: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East (RCJE) celebrated its 47th installation ceremony at Beldih Club. T.V. Srinivas Shenoy, Executive-in-Charge (Bearings), Tata Steel, was the chief guest.

The event saw the attendance of current and past Rotary district officials, along with presidents and secretaries from other Jamshedpur clubs. Outgoing President Rtn. Prema Gogna handed over the reins to incoming President Rtn. Subhrajit Basu.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a review of the past year’s highlights and recognition of club members by outgoing President Prema Gogna. Rtn. Dr. Anup Gupta and Rtn. Nidhi Basu were awarded Rotarian of the Year for their year-round commitment to the club’s activities.

In his address, President Subhrajit Basu emphasized the club’s focus areas for the year, including signature projects and the importance of diversity and inclusion. The annual goals of the club align with the Rotary theme for 2024-25, “The Magic of Rotary.” He urged his board and members to work collaboratively to achieve these goals.

PDG Rtn. Pratim Banerjee installed five new members, and the Installation Bulletin “Golmuri Wheel” was unveiled.

The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East (RCJE) announced its new leadership team for the forthcoming year. The team, led by President Subhrajit Basu, included IPP Prema Gogna, President Elect Punit Kauntia, Vice President Veena Mitra, Secretary Vikas Singh, Joint Secretary Nidhi Basu, Treasurer Sushma Pandey, Chief Bulletin Editor Dr. Anup Gupta, Sergeant-at-Arms Indira Dhar, Director Club Services Madan Bihari, Director Service Projects Jayanti Dutt, Director Public Image Kunal Kar, Director Rotary Foundation Vandana Jain, Director Membership Development OP Chopra, Director Youth Services Anita Paul, Director Fundraising Balwinder Singh and Club Learning Facilitator Dr. Tamal Deb. The new team aimed to align its goals with the Rotary theme for 2024-25, “The Magic of Rotary,” and work collaboratively to achieve them.
