String of events marks Rotary West RYLA

Jamshedpur, April 27: Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West organized RYLA— (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) function at Narbheram Hansraj English School in Bistupur on Thursday.

It was a great opportunity for students to learn how to develop leadership qualities, know personality traits etc. amidst fun filled moments. There were friendly competitions amongst children who took part in dance, extempore in Hindi and English, rangoli, talent hunt, group dance , essay writing, debate , face painting, etc. Around 100 participants from different schools and colleges took part along with their moderators ably supported by Rotarians and their spouses.

Rotaract and Interact Clubs who participated include Baridih High School, Kasidh High School, DBMS Career Academy, Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS), Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS), Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES), Beldih Church, Karim City College and Jain College.

In collage making, Akansha, Vandana, Priya and Manjeet of Baridih High School were first followed by Atiya Fatima, Samadrita Shaw, Aqsa Jabeen and Tafiha of Motilal Nehru Public School, who were the first runners-up. In rangoli, Narbheram Hansraj English School was the winner followed by Baridih High School.

In Hindi extempore, KSMS won the event, while Narbheram Hansraj was declared second. In English extempore, DBMS Career Academy was the winner followed by KSMS. In face painting, KSMS was declared the winner, while BHS came second.

In Best out of Waste, KSMS bagged the first prize while MNPS was second. In skit contest, NHES was first while BHS was second. In essay writing, Hill Top was first, while MNPS was the runner-up. In talent hunt, KSMS was first followed by BHS. In debate, KSMS was first while NHEs was second. In group dance, Church School was first, while NHES was second.

Earlier, Rotary West president, Rajender Sachdev welcomed all participants, guests, Rotarians and spouses who were present on the occasion. The event was inaugurated jointly by Sachdev, NHES principal, school managing committee president Nakul Kamamni, secretary Varsha Gandhi, Father Emile Coelho and director, New Generations, Aklavya Rajan.

The event was successful with active participation of Interactors, Rotaractors, moderators, teachers and staff of Narbheram Hansraj English School, Rotarians and their spouses.
