Ranchi: The meteorological department has issued a weather alert for Jharkhand, predicting stormy conditions and rainfall over the next 2-3 days. The skies remained overcast throughout Monday and are expected to remain so on Tuesday as well. The department has cautioned residents to brace for possible light rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.
The forecast indicates the likelihood of rainfall in districts including Gumla, Lohardaga, Latehar, and Palamu. Ranchi, which experienced a significant drop in temperature by 11 degrees Celsius due to light rain over the past two days, saw its maximum temperature reach 27.2 degrees Celsius. This marks a stark contrast to the temperature of 38 degrees Celsius recorded just two days ago.
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand predicts continued cloudy conditions across the state in the coming days. The weather department anticipates rain in the southern and central regions of the state from April 10th to 12th. An alert has been issued for strong winds and thunderstorms until April 11th, with the weather alert extended until April 12th. Residents are urged to exercise caution during this period.
Over the past 24 hours, several parts of the state have experienced light to moderate rainfall. Kurdega in Simdega recorded the highest rainfall at 5.4 mm. Meanwhile, Godda registered the highest temperature at 40.2 degrees Celsius, with Garhwa recording the lowest temperature in the state.
