Station Road loot case: Sikh leaders meet Jamshedpur SSP

Jamshedpur, Dec 17: Members of Station Road Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee met Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jamshedpur, Anoop Birtharay, on Tuesday in connection with the loot of gold ornaments from a woman in Jugsalai on Monday last. They demanded arresting of the culprits and better policing in the area.

Unidentified miscreants had looted gold ornaments worth several lakh from a woman at gun point near Station Road Gurudwara Road under Jugsalai police station area in broad day light. They were reportedly wearing police uniforms at the time of committing the crime, the woman told investigators.

Sardar Shailendra Singh, who led the delegation of Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, demanded regular police patrolling on the main road and other roads around the Gurudwara. He said CCTV footage of the incident was being made available to police to aid them in investigation. He said the victim was on her way to the Gurudwara when she was targeted by the culprits. Such incidents give rise to fear in the minds of people, he said.
