State Minority Commission to recommend Padma Bhushan for Dr. Kripal Singh Sidhu: Jyoti Matharu

Jamshedpur: Jyoti Singh Matharu, the Vice Chairman of the State Minority Commission, expressed gratitude to the Central Gurdwara Management Committee, Jharkhand Gurdwara Committee, and Takht Shri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib Committee for bestowing the Jharkhand Sikh Ratan Seva Award upon Dr. Kripal Singh Sidhu. In a significant development, Matharu announced that the State Minority Commission will formally recommend Dr. Sidhu for the prestigious Padma Bhushan award.
The decision was unveiled during a meeting at the Central Gurdwara Management Committee office, where Matharu acknowledged the contributions of Dr. Sidhu and commended the Sikh organizations for recognizing his service.
Matharu stated that a letter would be sent to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, officially recommending Dr. Sidhu for the Padma Bhushan. A copy of the letter will also be forwarded to the Home Ministry for further consideration and appropriate action.
During the meeting, Pradhan Bhagwan Singh raised several concerns related to the government, to which Matharu responded by expressing the society’s commitment to addressing government-related issues over time.
The event witnessed honors bestowed upon Matharu by Central Gurdwara Management Committee head Bhagwan Singh, Chairman Sardar Shailendra Singh, and Patna Sahib General Secretary Inderjit Singh, who presented mementos and shawls in recognition of Matharu’s dedication.
Prominent figures present at the occasion included Senior Vice President Narendra Pal Singh Bhatia, Nishan Singh, Chanchal Singh, Kuldeep Singh Shergill, General Secretary Amarjeet Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Treasurer Gurnam Singh, and other respected members of the Sikh community. The Central Naujawan Sabha President Amrik Singh, Inder Singh, and many others were also in attendance to celebrate this momentous recognition of Dr. Kripal Singh Sidhu’s contributions.
