Stage set for Wheels of creativity, GET Club to lines up series of events

Jamshedpur : State is all set for 30th edition of �Wheels�, an annual fest organised by the Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Club comprising young technocrats of Tata Motors, TML Drivelines, Tata Power, Tata Cummins Ltd and Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery.

The preliminary rounds will start from tomorrow with 13000 students from 86 schools and intermediate colleges participating.

Manas Mishra, general manager, Tata Motors and also the chairperson of GET Club and other members cum officials of Tata Motors like Ravi Singh, head, HR, Tata Motors; Ranjit Dhar, spokesperson and other GET Club members addressed a press meet on Wednesday.

Wheels 2017 is packed with 37 events. It will start tomorrow and will conclude on December 24. The Wheels marathon will be organised on December 25 from Sumant Moolgaokar stadium in Telco at 6 am. Nearly 2,000 students, corporate officials and dignitaries will take part in the 4-km marathon which is titled Greenathon-Run for a clean society.

The finale of Wheels will take place between Jan 13 and 15 at Telco Club premises.

” The objective of the fest is to provide a common platform to school and college students where they can display their creativity and fine arts. It also provides an opportunity to the graduate trainees for developing team work and leadership qualities,” said an official.

Events include cultural activities such as Dance, Vocals, Instrumentals, Band performance, Rangmanch, Nukkad; educational activities such as Quizzes, Creative writing, Spellathon, Science exhibition, Word war along with Face painting, Graffiti, Photography ,Treasure Hunt, Guess what, Reverse engineering, Origami, Improvised band, Movie-making & Workshops stimulating creative genius.

Moreover the Cyber events like NFS and Counter-strike wouldn’t be left out too. With this scintillating line up of WHEELS attracts participation in hundreds and generates footfalls in thousands. Schools, colleges, corporate houses and various clubs of Jamshedpur take part with enthusiasm in this extravaganza.

The GET Club juggles entertainment as well as social responsibility with equal �lan. The objective is to make a positive contribution to the society we live in. The club and its activities are governed by the GET committee. The GET committee is a six member body serving for a period of one year. Subsequently, the next batch of GETs takes over.
