Jamshedpur: St. Mary’s School in Jamshedpur hosted a heartfelt Raksha Bandhan celebration, extending the traditional festival to honour the personnel of the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force). During the event, students from the school tied rakhis on the wrists of 106 RAF CRPF officers and jawans, symbolizing the age-old bond of protection and respect associated with Raksha Bandhan.
This gesture celebrated the spirit of Rakhi, traditionally where sisters tie rakhis on their brothers’ wrists, with the brothers pledging to protect them. By including CRPF personnel in this tradition, the school paid tribute to their role as the nation’s protectors, acknowledging their vital contribution to maintaining security in challenging regions such as Kashmir, Manipur, and Chhattisgarh.
Assistant Commandant Abhishek Shankar was among the distinguished guests who received rakhis from the students.
